the order process:

#1   -   Communicate with the artist by e-mail, letter or telephone at:

terry@terrylefler.com

or by phone at:
 407-696-0868

or by letter to:
Terry Lefler
1216 Punta Gorda Circle

Try to include the following information:

  • The size of the desired portrait and whether it is a traditional oil-on-canvas painting or a "cutout" painting.

  • The required delivery date for the finished portrait.  ( You should expect to wait 6 to 8 weeks for completion of a traditional portrait, after an agreement has been reached.  If you want the portrait for Christmas you will need to order early.  The artist will only accept a limited number of orders depending on the available time.)  ("Cutout" portraits and larger oil paintings will require mort time.)

  • Send a photo for the proposed portrait.  This photo needs to be a high resolution image.  Please understand that in order for a portrait to be accurate and to have detail, the photograph must be of good quality.  (Because there is a danger of loss or damage, "one of a kind" or precious photos should not be sent.  Copies should be made and sent for use by the artist.  If the photos are to be returned, the sender will be responsible for return postage and insurance.)

With this information, I will be able to determine whether or not I can produce the portrait during the required timeframe.

  1. #2  -  After it has been determined that it will be possible for me to complete the portrait within the time constraint, we will need to discuss to discuss the following issues in our next communications:

  • Any requirements or constraints concerning the composition, the features. the background, the clothing or accessories

  • Any requirement for framing

  • Any thoughts that the customer has that might give the artist more insight into the personality of the subject of the portrait

  • Payment method - Payment may be made by credit card through PayPal without being a PayPal member.  Payment can also be made by cashier's check, money order or personal check.  (If payment is made by personal check, the portrait will not be shipped until after the check has cleared the bank.)

  • Shipping requirements and fees (The cost of shipping will include the cost of the postage, insurance, packaging materials and may include some handling cost. )

  • My fees for producing the portrait - (based on the size and complexity of the project)

After we can agree on these issues, the portrait will be started.

The portrait will be done on the traditional medium of stretched canvas using artists oil colors unless otherwise requested by the customer.

"Cutout" portraits are done on plywood supported by a metal framework in back.

  1. As the work progresses. there will be opportunity for the customer to see the portrait and to have input concerning the composition - especially at the beginning.   Photos of the portrait will be available for viewing at a link in the artist's web site or attached to emails sent to the customer.
